About

My love for pastry and baking began at a very early age. Before I was tall enough to peer into the mixing bowl, my mother allowed me to sit on the countertop and observe the magic of her hands creating pies, cookies and cakes.

This passion continued to blossom as I grew older. During college, baking was my escape from homesickness, papers and exams.

One week after I graduated from The College of William and Mary, with degrees in both economics and government, I moved to Manhattan to begin my adult life and my career in finance.

However, I quickly realized, trapped behind a computer nine hours a day, this was not how I wanted to be spending my adult years at all. I wanted to make a career from something I truly loved and was passionate about – baking.

With the encouragement of my family and friends, I enrolled in the evening Pastry & Baking Arts diploma program at The Institute of Culinary Education.

I launched Dolcetto Confections to share my creations, test recipes, photography and adventures of making my mark in the pastry world. Dolcetto Confections also serves as my portfolio to inspire custom orders.

My test recipes are presented as step-by-step tutorials, complete with recipes, instructions and photos, as I believe the best way to learn the art of baking is just how my mother taught me – up close and personal.

Happy Baking!
